WHO WE ARE, AND WHY WE ARE HERE - In Detail

More Perfect Union Accountability Network (MPUAN - the long version)

At More Perfect Union Accountability Network (MPUAN), we support our community — We the People — in harnessing the power of their First Amendment rights, specifically the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Our purpose is to minimize the barriers We the People face in effecting the change, reform, and accountability we deserve from our government actors and agencies. These government entities are funded by taxes on our labor — the sweat on our backs, the blisters on our fingers, and the exhaustion in our bones. For our blood, sweat, and tears, we deserve accountability.

The long history of successful letter-writing campaigns has demonstrated the enduring power of this tool. In today’s digital, paperless age, it’s become clear that we need to make it easier than ever for everyone to utilize this time-tested method of demanding accountability.

Ask yourself — when was the last time you mailed something? Even a bill? Do you own stamps? Envelopes? A printer? Does it have paper and ink? Or is it buried under a pile of laundry and junk mail? Most people pay their bills online. The U.S. Postal Service — once a cornerstone of civic communication — has been reduced to delivering junk mail, bills, and online orders. Mailed letters are now a relic of a bygone era.

That is exactly what makes them powerful again. In this digital age, “old-fashioned” USPS-mailed letters stand out. They are novel — tangible — and demand attention. Amid the noise of inbox notifications, X posts, and social feeds, a physical letter carries weight. Ask yourself — when was the last time you received something in the mail that wasn’t a bill or junk? Something that mattered? Physical letters stand out. They mean something.

And that physical presence creates friction — the kind that forces attention. Government agencies have embraced the digital transition fully. Paper has become their enemy. So, bringing paper back into the process — demanding accountability through physical mail — requires action, time, and resources.
A thousand emails are like a swarm of gnats on a hot summer day — annoying, but easy to ignore.
A thousand letters, however, are like a plague of locusts — impossible to dismiss, each one demanding to be opened, read, and managed by a human being.

We are here to help We the People harness this power en masse. This government works for us. Its authority is limited and granted solely by We the People. When it fails to listen, we must hold it accountable.

Ultimately, it is our right, our civic responsibility, and our patriotic duty to hold our government accountable. It is our job to continuously create a more perfect union.
Together, we can ensure the message is clear:
Government legitimacy depends on the consent of We the People — and when that consent is abused, it can be revoked.
